There are several possible reasons why a fridge may be noisy:

  1. The water inlet valve: If the fridge has a water and ice dispenser, the water inlet valve can make noise when it is opening and closing.
  2. The ice maker: If the fridge has an ice maker, it can make noise when it is filling with water or when the ice is being dispensed.
  3. Sometimes the drain in the freezer can block, this will cause the water stuck in there to freeze over and seal it effectively.  This can cause ice to build up on the bottom of the freezer and on the fan too, if the fan is covered in ice it will be noticeably louder and will also run for longer periods of time as it is trying to cool the unit.

This can be fixed by defrosting the fridge for a full 24 hours as this will allow the ice to melt and unblock the drain.

Please try doing a full defrost as this will likely fix the issue and avoid fees being charged for a technician visit if this is found to be the fault.
